JPowell literally said multiple times there'll be no rate cuts this year.

CPI will be down tomorrow, and the market will pump because pic related.

But JPowell's statements that no printing will be done this year is ignored. So if we're still following pic related, we're basically betting that he's lying.

Last meeting, Jerome Powell explicitly said

1. No rate cuts in 2023
2. The so called bank bailouts that happened a week prior werent QE because that money wasnt entering the system (like printing money but then sending it to planet Mars)
3. Balance sheet reduction is resuming

So a pump on lower CPI doesnt make sense.
The logic is that lower CPI means the Fed will pivot and restart printing.

So its basically a game of do we believe JP words, or not believe JP words.
