So I'm thinking about actually opening a margin account, can someone explain to me how this works? Like it says 50%, but does that mean all of my trades I do are now 50% not my own money whether I want them to be or not? Does the margin account exist separate to the cash account, and if so do I have to fund it to half from the cash account or can I operate fully on margin from it with my cash account investments as the security?
