Lot of good books out there. But few books explain what to do and none of them can address our current situation. So I think right now books are mostly a waste unless you know nothing.

As others have said: charge what you are worth, but not spending money until you have to is critical to the business success. That doesn't mean be a total cheap person. For the flip side I know of multiple small business owners who refuse to hire competent people at the salary they get.

I make 40k year as a shit tier accountant at this dead end company in the steel industry. I have to pay for my own health insurance. Only benefit of worth is a 3% 401k match.

I want to start my own bookkeeping business. Is it really not worth it? Only thing I fear is not being able to get clients.
