Because gold has been valued for thousands of years - even before it was money - and it exists as such in the myths, legends, poetry, songs, art, folk tales, and artifacts of all cultures. Gold is nearly synonymous with treasure. The notion that gold is just a shiny rock that nobody cares about anymore is hilarious. Only an illiterate fool could truly think that.

That's a very uncomfy comment, fren. You should let the spirit of shininess and love fill your dark heart.

What you fail to understand is that working folks right now have the best opportunity in history to accumulate the precious metals that have always and everywhere been the most desirable and durable form of money. So cherished was it in ancient times, that people still regularly find hidden accumulations 2000 years old! So cherished IS IT STILL that Central Banks, the most elite of all financial insiders in the world, are stacking it today.

Not sure why you would take the time to try to demoralize people you never met. Maybe you are being paid? Or maybe you are just a sad and bitter person? Either way, it won't work because history is so much stronger than your low-effort sniping.

I hope you find your way to the light of kindness someday.

Take your time going through it. Your grandfather had a reason for each purchase. Maybe historical interest or beauty or rarity or just a bargain at the time. Look at each one individually and see if it appeals to you in some way. Get a copy of World Coins so you can learn a little about each. Then keep the ones that have some appeal to you and carefully sell the rest. But use the proceeds in a mindful way, not for buying porn or cheeseburgers. In this way you will honor your ancestor. And someday one of your grandchildren may honor you in the same way.

With three thousand years of history behind it, stacking gold and silver isn't much of a test of faith. More of a test of the ability to raise your perspective above the ocean of lies and stupidity in which we live. Just as the lottery is a test of your ability to understand statistics, stacking gold and silver is a test of your ability to understand history.

You are an agent of hopelessness, fear, and cowardice. You are an advocate of doing nothing out of fear of being wrong. It is possible that PMs will not help me or my family. I have other resources as well. But one thing that is absolutely certain: being paralyzed by fear will end you and your line. All things being equal - in this case equal in destruction - it is better to regret having done something that didn't work out than to regret having done nothing.

This is a board for people who are doing something.

Things are really going to hell in China. The CCP has suspended English classes in the schools and made Xi's propaganda lessons mandatory viewing. This is an attempt to divert blame for the failing economy onto America and also to lay an ideological foundation for the coming economic collapse and authoritarian responses.

I have been excited about the prospect of the BRICS issuing a gold-backed trade currency. But if China is imploding, it may not happen.

So what does all of this mean for the PM market? I don't have a clue.

Until WWI fucked everything up, the Western world was on track towards a standard gold currency. France, Italy, Switzerland, USA, and others all circulating gold. Because a gram of gold is always a gram of gold, in Russia, China, India, Brazil, the USA.

The Western countries' ban on Russian gold selling (which isn't even happening) is all about trying to hold back the remonetization of gold. But it will fail. The BRICS are major players in gold and will eventually get around to trading in gold and issuing a gold-backed currency.

It is meaningless in terms of supply and demand on the market. But it reflects a growing concern in Western power centers over the move towards remonetization of gold. And that is huge in the mid to long term. Have patience, fren. The great virtues of the stacker are knowing the big picture of history, ignoring the ephemeral distractions and shills, and having patience and confidence in the ancient fundamentals.

Yes, buy the cheapest gold you can find - IF all you value is money. If, on the other hand, you also value beauty and history, and ideals of human virtue, buy what speaks to you.
