For the sake of argument, let's say that "the rich" hold most of the gold at present. When (not if) the dollar collapses gold may be restored to its three thousand year status as money. At that point "the rich" will need to spend their gold for all the goods and services they need. Voila! The hoarded gold is in circulation. This is why the scammers moved away from gold in the first place. Fiat money allows them to create money out of thin air so they don't have to spend their hoard - they just keep creating more and skimming it off the normies. This is why inflation makes the rich richer and everyone else poorer and why sound money is good for everyone except the thieves and scam artists in government and banking.

But the stacker will not only benefit from a new, less corrupt economy. He will also have a head start because he has in hand the new measure of value and even a small amount available cheaply today will turn out to be a very big deal when gold is remonetized.

By the way, the average Indian housewife owns more gold than the average rich American. So your mental image of Scrooge McDuck having all the gold is a fallacy.

I can only speak for myself. Stocks aren't money. Stocks are paper promises. Promises get broken. When times get tough promises get broken frequently and with little recourse. Stocks can only be turned into money during times when promises are kept and confidence is high. Such times are probably coming to an end in the near future. Precious metals are money in hand and do not rely on promises.

Filter the fuds, stack precious metals, get strong, be kind, build your skills, and cultivate patience. This goes against the current sweeping the world into the abyss.

But you really don't even have to think that far in advance. All you need to do is look at the alternatives. Where else will you store your wealth? Stocks? bonds? Real estate? Cash in an account with banks all technically insolvent? None of the fuds ever have an alternative that isn't sitting on a ticking debt time bomb.

If people borrow or lend gold, it is not my problem. My gold remains unaffected. The problems arise for me when banks and politicians create money out of thin air. Can't do that with gold.
