You have a LinkedIn? I don't know how large these companies are that you're dealing with, but you might want to try adding them on LinkedIn and sending a direct message that way. I've emailed companies before as well for school assignments and shit and they never responded, but then I linked with the CEO of a large (in Canada) app on LinkedIn and he actually accepted doing an interview with me.

It ended up falling through, but that's because I was pressuring him to do the interview in a couple days since I waited until the last moment to do my assignment. But the lesson still stands: People who are driven, will respect other driven people.

And if you go out of your way to make yourself noticeable to them through direct messaging, calling, whatever, you will get some kind of response.

Just don't be a dick about it.
