Bitcoin doesn't have to be backed by anyone, it just has to provide value. The main use of cryptocurrency is allowing people to buy drugs and other shady shit online. This is a valuable service because people really fucking love drugs.
People speculating on cryptocurrency are missing the point, one day bitcoin will crash permanently, the value is the service it provides, it has no inherent value.

One final tip: taxes.

Since this is a business, you're going to be listed as an independent contractor.

That means you'll be needing a W2 tax form. If you work from your apartment or home, and the room which you devote to painting is at least 10% of the floor-space, you get to write off 10% of your rent, electricity, heating, cleaning supplies, maybe even internet (if you filter your requests via the web).

Now, I can't """"legally"""" recommend what I'm about to say next.... but if you're doing a job for a family member or friend, or someone you know.... try to keep that profit off the books for a bit (AND NOT GET CAUGHT). It'll save your new business a bit, be willing to bend the rules.

If you do get caught, just stick with the line "Oh, I didn't know" and just pay the amount. They won't realistically care to charge you a fee if your business isn't bringing in six figures.
