Alright serious question now after looking most up, why the fuck are they all either based or founded there?

Im not a mutt and didn't realise this was the case until today

Note, I'm defining "making it" as having an extremely impressive career, running successful business or reaching an extremely high level in something, NOT having lots of money from winning the lottery or gambling on shit coins.

My academic record is exceptional but never applied to Oxbridge at undergrad and rejected masters (grades/references were good enough, it was something else but don't know exact reason). I want to go into academia but not sure if not going to a elite uni will hold me back. Pisses me off no end.

I'm far more successful financially and in general, academics is definitely my weakest thing.
