I’ve never seen any reference to it in absolutely any of the 3-5 system design books that I own.
I have no idea what it would be used for.
The AWS cert.s are basically teaching you to memorize a sales catalog and all the spec.s and features.
So, more focus than necessary on obscure AWS services that you’re very unlikely to ever use.

This is why it made AWS cert.s seem lame to me as an entry level engineer, but now it’s becoming mildly interesting because I’m curious WTF system design would warrant using some of this shit, such as EFS
