That's a pretty loaded take. It isn't groundbreaking tech, that's the thing. Opportunity cost exists, competition exists, failure exists. You're banking on the tech working, a startup team being able to implement flawless staking when they are blatantly avoiding the topic at Smart Con and everywhere else. Everyone makes the argument Chainlink's future price will be use case alone, which they load up with farfetched partnerships and dream-scenario applications, but that begs the question that they actually can achieve this retardedly complex tech perfectly when they are showing no signs of legitimate progress and remain intentionally vague when pressed.
