To be fair, you have to have a very high IQ to understand the ancient craft. The knowledge is extremely subtle, and without a solid grasp of Platonic physics most of the rites will go over a typical acolyte's head. There's also Manly's Gnostic outlook, which is deftly woven into his characterisation- his personal philosophy draws heavily from Emerald Tablet literature, for instance. The masters understand this stuff; they have the intellectual capacity to truly appreciate the depths of these psychodramas, to realise that they're not just funny- they say something deep about LIFE. As a consequence people who dislike Freemasonry truly ARE idiots- of course they wouldn't appreciate, for instance, the wisdom in Albert's existential catchphrase "Do What Thou Wilt," which itself is a cryptic reference to Rabelais' Satanic epic Gargantua and Pantagruel. I'm smirking right now just imagining one of those uninitiated simpletons scratching their heads in confusion as Hiram Abiff's genius wit unfolds itself on their scrying boards. What fools.. how I pity them.

And yes, by the way, i DO have a Thelemic tattoo. And no, you cannot see it. It's for the little boy's eyes only- and even then they have to demonstrate that they're within 5 IQ points of my own (preferably lower) beforehand. Nothin personnel kid

To be fair, you have to have a very high IQ to understand occult science. The knowledge is extremely subtle, and without a solid grasp of Hermetic physics most of the spells will go over a typical acolyte's head. There's also Crowley's nihilistic outlook, which is deftly woven into his characterisation- his personal philosophy draws heavily from Mithraic literature, for instance. The masters understand this stuff; they have the intellectual capacity to truly appreciate the depths of these omens, to realise that they're not just prophetic- they say something deep about LIFE. As a consequence people who dislike Gnosticism truly ARE idiots- of course they wouldn't appreciate, for instance, the wisdom in Crowley's existential catchphrase "Do What Thou Wilt," which itself is a cryptic reference to Rabelais' Rosicrucian epic Gargantua and Pantagruel. I'm smirking right now just imagining one of those addlepated simpletons scratching their heads in confusion as Hermes Trismegistus's genius will unfolds itself on their scrying boards. What fools.. how I pity them.
