isn't it awkward when you go back in stinking of weed and then the wage master comes up and starts talking to you about some dull wage cuck task and all you can think is "I wonder if he realises I'm high?"

I don't get it. I can think of at least 5 people who went to work at big 4 after university (I'm 27 now) and all 5 are still at the same firms. None of them appear to have any money much less a work/life balance. They all tell me about jobs they've turned down and I think: "well why didn't you take it then?"

I just don't get it. Big 4 seemed like a scam when I was pitched these jobs as a graduate and my opinion hasn't changed a bit. Long hours and weekend work. Bitterly competitive. Boring. Doesn't pay very well >>9487143 - as if £60k is anything at all - especially after taxes.

"Big 4 is a good job" seems like another one of those things that get repeated so many times people automatically believe it. From the outside looking in it just seems like madness

I could go on. When 2 people from big 4 jobs get together they try and one-up each other on who works the most hours. One friend admitted to crying after getting a bollocking from two bosses for daring to want to transfer to another department.

There must be some next level brainwashing going on there

>Getting a paycheck is such a good feeling that sometimes it's worth it.
but if you have any sense you save your money and within a few months the paycheck is irrelevant to your total net worth

I get why someone living paycheck to paycheck would get excited when the wagemaster compensates him for his wage slavery but that buzz wears off after you've received like 10 of them

What are /biz/'s thoughts on universal basic income?
As a toiler, I would love more free time to explore the world, and my skills on my own time. Would do anything for that kind of freedom. But, the sad fact of life is that it isn't possible for everyone.

Let us know what you think, I'll leave you with this little speech by Brain Eno
