If we really think about it, Chainlink Functions is what we all envisioned in 2017 wasnt it?
Speaking for myself, i almost gave up on all alts, including eth, for just BTC when i conceptualised the "weakest chain issue" in my head. i was really down thinking, how are all these use-cases possible if getting the data into a eth smart contract, the person could lie or make an input error? how can that be solved? the DLT is only as strong as the least secure part and that breaks it and makes it useless.
Then i saw Chainlink spammed on biz in like Feb 2018 and it all clicked and i was fucking ecstatic it existed.

We envisioned LINK being the oracle to give the temperature data, weather data, insurance data, dentacoin dentist data, skateboard data, FUN data, and all these endless ideas to become reality.
We got price feeds, which seemed logical first step, and defi was born. Then we got small refinements. then CCIP. im sure some of you started wondering - just how far off are these original ideas? what stops LINK being able to parse that data so far? is CCIP the bottleneck? I was certainly wondering this.

No, it wasnt a bottleneck. Here are Chainlink functions. why did it take so long? mystery to me, but as far as im concerned this is it. All that shit will be possible now, and a fucking megaton of projects wills tart being able to do all kinds of insane stuff and that will attract a lot of attention and hype, and it is ONLY possible by paying the dons to parse all their data.
