Depends on what you think is gonna happen in the near future. If this >>26011160 happens, mining stocks won't do well because they are traded on the exchanges like any other stock. And no, mining stocks won't perform better than the rest in that scenario because people will be getting out of paper and into real money, not mining stocks or any other stock. In that situation, you don't want counterparty risk: dollars are counterparty risk, stocks are counterparty risk, etc. and when people are getting rid of that risk as fast as they can in exchange for commodities, you will be able to buy much less of those commodities with your paper because nobody will give you their commodities in return for paper
