I can't fathom what kind of normie NPC would drop so much money on a car that objectively sucks so hard.

This kind of money into a project car would literally destroy anything on the road. I personally have 3 Ford Probes. Anyone looking for a Ford Probe should do as follows. Do not pay more than 2000 for a cherry one, 3000 if low miles. Pic related is from the web, I hope to restore my main Probe to that condition one day.

Distributors fail. If you come across an ad for one that won't start, or starts and runs for 15 minutes and shuts off, it's a distributor, the ignitors overheat in them, bring a disty and drive away

1993 has the best suspension from the factory

95 was last year for OBD-1, if you're going to get a project 93-94 is the sweet spot

93 has a lot of specific stuff, the dash and door panels are specific to that year and some were sold with factory graphic equalizers which look dope as shit. The downside is, those door panels are 2 piece and by now they are all broken, most swap to 95+ panels

On the V6, the motors are non-interference, but the 4cyl is not.

They are very dependent on vacuum so if you have one with a high idle or no idle it's got a vac leak

One of the biggest common issues with all models is the transmissions are made of glass and the cases crack after repeated hard launches. They can be beefed up. We're working on a 6-speed conversion that uses a Ford Fusion trans.

The Mazdaspeed Protege Turbo engine is a direct bolt-in to 4-cyl base and SE models and requires almost no modification except swapping all your emissions shit over to the MSP engine

The 200hp KLZE engine is a direct bolt in for V6. Don't bother with the supercharged Miller Cycle engine from the Millenia.
