there are legitimate dapps but sure there's also a good amount of garbage as with any EVM implementation. Subnets are the big thing with avalanche though. They seamlessly interoperate but still provide performance isolation. They can have an unlimited number of nodes which can all be permissionless to boot. The thing is, right now there's a bunch in the pipeline but most have not launched yet. Right now presents a chance to get in before the network really takes off, people start really noticing, activity and avax staking for nodes takes off, and the macro eventually swings favorable again.
