One thing about all this... Add all the security you're buying for protection of metals to the cost of the metals. You're going to need a really big safe to store the amount of silver you'd need to cover that cost.
Really the best thing is to keep it secret.
My sister is the only one who knows I have any metals, but knows only of a few coins.

None of my relatives know I stack or have any interest in metals. Not that I don't trust them directly, but I don't trust they could keep it secret from anyone that might not in turn be trustworthy. And if you ask them to keep it secret, they might tell a 'friend', "Oh, my [relative] is one of those nuts who thinks [insert segue to info that I stack] ..."
