altcoins will never ever be sucessful. Every day there will be a new altcoin. Every new altcoin competes with all the other altcoins, stealing some percent of their marketcaps.
Eventually people will notice this and realize BTC is growing faster. They move their money to BTC. This causes BTC to grow even faster, and altcoins to decline even faster. Which causes more people to jump to BTC, etc. This can only end with BTC killing everything else

Don't believe me, look at the price changes on coinmarket cap. Of the top 30 coins, all but 2 new coins have declined faster than bitcoin in the past week or the past day. This happens every cycle.
