>it's the number of people going out and spending money
I'm also not sure what everyone is spending money on. It must all be essentials or discretionary

Yourself! It's the only thing I can think of at this time. I really still like Commodities, PM, and PM miners, but investing in yourself, consumables that don't expire... lead..., and maybe some durables is what I'm imagining will pay off the most right now.

Can someone tell me how options really work? Let's say a stock is $20 and I buy a put that says it will go down to $17 within a week. I pay $100 for this put. Let's say the stock goes down to $18 the next day. I'm still in a loss, correct? I'm confused by the idea that an option is worth less and less as the final date looms around. And how do I know how much money I can make if it dumps to, say, $16 as opposed to $17. RH sometimes shows that graph bar that tells you exactly how much you can make, other times it doesn't.
