I grew up lower middle class but I knew an extremely rich family who had all the material shit and it makes no difference once you have it. In many cases it was worse. The only thing they have that I don't and envy them for is the freedom from arbitrary obligations to maintain their existence.

In some ways it's not a bad thing if you're motivated by the idea of yachts, lambos and marble bench tops because that's easy motivation. All that shit is in reality completely unfulfilling and your motivation for it is probably just a proxy motivation from wanting to lose your virginity.
