I for the first time ever am in on bitcoin. Just bought 3000 USD when it was 67000 USD in price.
I don’t care if it rises or falls. Not going to sell. I’ve seen the volatility of BTC. It’s insane. And the hash rate continues to rise exponentially over the years. Gonna buy low sell hi, and play the long game. There’s no massive dump that can scare me.

I’m trying to run a full node in my home. What kind of internet bandwidth do I need to run full node with a modest amount of peers all while still allowing my whole family to video stream and stuff like normal? Is it expensive? My research indicates I need like 100mbps for 8-12 peers on a full node. Should I just do a pruned node if my bandwidth is shit and I got family that bitch once I allow one peer on my node? Also I’m still working on running my node thru i2p. I created a tunnel on the console with a destination name and set it to port 18080 and address 127.0.0.1 or whatever. I set to no peers but when I add this tunnel in monerod.config it should connect to the tunnel right and show up as my one in peer?

So my fellow /SMG peeps. I really really want TSLA. As far as I know… it’s only tanked because musk purged his shares to buy twitter. Creating a bear market scenario and that’s all. It’s still a good stock right? Unfortunately I only got a couple grand so I’ll only be able to get like 20 shares. Good idea? Bad idea?

Someone recommend me the best way to invest in uranium. I was thinking ETF but I dunno if I like that as much as buying uranium stock directly.

So guys. Let’s say I’m super fucking skizo about gov/corporations/hackers/bank mafia knowing where my shitcoins are. I’ve been reading different strategies about how to keep your monero super hidden. Many say cash by mail. But how good are the atomic swaps? I’ve read other strategies like first buy bitcoin from a fully KYC exchange. Withdraw to private wallet(they can’t deny you if your not a Canadian trucker). Then you send this to another wallet. Then send it to atomic swap. Get a different shit coin like Z-cash. Then send this to a different wallet. Then buy monero on local monero peer to peer with this. This a good setup? Good as cash by mail at that point I think.

> It's why PoW/PoS is a requirement for network security, as a ledger that relies purely on node consensus would collapse horrifically because it lacks any "external" element (e.g. burning shitloads of electricity) that prevents people from just starting up a bunch of nodes and hijacking the network

One of my favorite features of crypto outside of privacy and independence from central banking was that it ALSO polluted the shit out of the environment and made environmentalists seethe. What you mention here, a deterrent from just anyone starting a malicious node, is a very nice feature. Any other neat features that pollution/energy consumptions adds to a purely private “fuck the government” crypto that I have yet to realize?
