That's not how it works.
If a broker defaults, all of the brokers assets gets used to to clear the books of the broker - i.e. forced liquidation, to settle the books.
Even if the fucking DTCC defaulted, your GME shares would be safe if you DRS'd. (although, actually selling them might be difficult)
