Is cooking at home dangerous, like, psychologically?

It seems tempting. Giving up restaurants and watching the saving account grow day by day. But isn't it putting you at risk for losing friends?

>eat a normal sized portion
>coworker inappropriately points out I am eating a second meal already and says 'Do you want to eat mine as well?!'
>next day report him to boss
>he says not to worry about it and says that it's true that I've eaten way too much for my height

What the fuck ? How is this shit even allowed in 21st century? I'm from US, I thought we're over this stupid stigma against people who weigh a little bit more?
