what's a good hail mary bet? i was thinking extremely short term SPY puts; betting ill get lucky and it'll crash within the week.
i personally think its going to crab, but im not brave enough to sell options. i'd rather put a little money in and have a 10% chance of hitting

okay i have something extremely specific that requires no start up money.
internet writing communities are full of desperate people who will never be published - i know because i am one. now, if youre a professional writer, you don't hire an editor; the publisher does. but for these bottomfeeding fantasy "unpublished novelists", they'll never get that far.
so a lot of them fall prey to sketchy editors. these are people who offer to edit your book, even though you don't have any kind of a deal. the writers pay these people anywhere from $1,000 to $10,000 to give an in-depth edit on a manuscript.
typically, desperate people do this, because they can't understand why they aren't getting published.
so, anon, you start a respectable looking site. you spend a few months shilling yourself on leddit and facebook and instagram. find the communities and seed your name around.
then, if you're lucky, once every few months, a stranger will give you a thousand dollars to tell them their book is bad.
as a failed writer, ive thought repeatedly about doing this. ive seen my fellow failures regularly falling for this scam
