With stores it really depends. Big supermarkets care because they are big companies. But the small businesses don't bother. Most of the time I see them with their masks down and only fumbling a tiny bit when I walk in. I wave my hand and they stop.

Rules here are till March 7th. They promised they would only lock down till December 1st and then reopen. Businesses now have larger posters in their windows telling the gov to fuck off and police have become more and more prevalent. This will not end well.

The ones that religiously followed the government now slowly break one by one. Here the motto was "Well, at least it is much better than in the US". Now the US has like ten times the people vaccinated, has not destroyed their economy completely and here people suffer due to state incompetence.
It's a mess.

The police numbers here in my Bavarian town have exploded. I pass like three of them on my way to the supermarket by now. They are supposed to check the rules but their main job is now to check license plates. If you are Bavarian or Austrian they will not stop you. If you drive up with a German plate they will immediately stop you and ask what the fuck you are doing here.

At this point nobody knows what the fuck they are even trying to achieve.
