i also disregarded it completely when i heard it was online however the game being bad is one thing, many people are mostly upset over how Bethesda is handling this.

+ beta testing was for promotional purposes. they didn't fix any bugs and instead said "expect it to be very buggy" when the game launched.
+ they give no refunds
+ the stuff you can buy for real money in-game is very expensive and not even good looking
+ the extra expensive special edition promised a nice bag of good quality but when people received it it turned out to be of extremely poor quality, even a whole different material.
+ support e-mails have been really arrogant.
+ they already lowered the price of the game making people that just bought it at release feel like they got a raw deal.

also since the next elder scrolls is being developed along side fallout 76 people are worried it will use the same buggy engine with pretty outdated graphics, which probably is true.
