This is not an exit scam and they did not "hack" themselves. If a rogue employee stole the funds that is much more akin to an outside hacker than the executive staff taking the money and running.
Personally I believe in the honesty of the people running the place. They may have been incompetent and they may have been lazy but I don't think they meant for this to happen. Remember the whole thing was started by a couple of young guys as a hobby and just blew up from there with the overall market.
The founders were in over their heads. In hindsight, they should have either sold out to somebody who knew what they were doing or they should have brought in a team of security and financial experts. Sadly it's too late for that now. Will we get our money back? Who knows. Probably not. For those of us at a loss right now, lesson learned. I want my fucking bitcoins but even more I actually enjoyed trading on Cryptopia. I liked the volatility of the hundreds of shitcoins and I made a lot more (and pulled it out!) than I lost so I'm not entirely unhappy.
All that, don't count this exchange out just yet. They could bounce back. It's not highly likely but think about this: the hackers didn't get anything but a bunch of imaginary internet tokens. They didn't get the real money Cryptopia uses for day to day operations. They could easily send everybody some condolence emails claiming "sfyl" and reopen the doors like nothing happened.
What happens next though? I guess we'll see but I doubt we've seen the last of the exchange from New Zealand.

No problem man. I'll save the link for when I finally do sign up. Burger though so have to use VPN. I did go to college but I'm socially awkward as hell. Massive introvert but I wouldn't have it any other way.

Thanks for the tips! I used to travel around a lot in the US and Mexico and every time I ended up in Tijuana, I always took a trip to the local brothel and would fuck the most amazingly beautiful girls. Felt high as a kite for a week afterward. You might be onto something with the tinder thing. I've seen some of J. Peterson but I'll be sure to check his other stuff out too. Oh and the staying up thing. I read something about that a while back and I now have the Scientific American article about it open in another tab. I might just give staying up a shot. Tomorrow though. I'm tired as hell today.

Thinking about trying some mindfulness meditation. I experimented with Buddhism a few years back, going to the temple and everything. Maybe I'll give it another shot.

Yes, fucking is truly the best.

Cool man. email noted and saved. One thing before I go to sleep. I'll read your response in the morning. I've been using node since it's a lot easier to set up web socket connections with it and I hate polling the exchanges for prices. Do you have a go-to way of doing it in Python? Twisted maybe? Or just straight up "import multiprocessing". My Python scripts are for things like initiating buys and sells with the Node scripts being what does the grunt work of getting prices. Just curious how you're doing it.

Thanks for the great thread /biz/raelis! I'm about to pass out from exhaustion but damn if I don't feel better. Good luck in all of your future trading and I'll be sure to do some day trading threads in the future to spread some more tips.

This is guaranteed larp for one obvious reason. If you could make 2k just trading crypto for 2 hours, you'd be doing it 16 hours a day. STOP LYIN' NIGGA
