Actually Monero has tail emission.
The block reward currently is 1.34, and will continue to decline until ~May 2022, where the block reward will stop at 0.6XMR. At that point, monero's block reward will stay at 0.6XMR until the end of time. So Moner is not deflationary because the tail emission creates a permanent reward/incentive for miners. Monero doesn't have halvings, so the supply and demand of the market is less "hyped" like Bitcoin's with the halving cycle. See pic related.
>Best case I can see it as an anonymous sidechain for some main coin given atomic swaps become a simple widespread process
yep this is a major usecase that we have been saying in the XMR generals for a while now. Once atomic swaps come around anybody who wants to hide their transaction history will want to swap into Monero. It will be the crypto swiss bank, so to speak.

Ever think that btc pumps every halving with relatively wide angles in decreasing supply
And xmr has only one such continuous event
Thats fast approaching

Really tickles the pickle

XMR isn't a shitcoin. read the whitepaper. transactions are obfuscated, the ledger is unreadable. its also heavily undervalued. it will be worth much more in the 30's than BTC due to higher transaction count, block rewards and different inflation.

Yeah, you absolutely can hold other cryptos and then transfer to Monero when needed.
But in this scenario, you are proving that Monero has value and use case. This privacy/fungibility separates it from other crypto. One can "wash" their Bitcoin with Monero, so to speak. So while you do not need to hold on to it, the demand will always be there for privacy.
Now with that said, when you consider Moneros low block reward (95% of Monero has already been mined) and it's current undervalued status (1 XMR = 0.008 BTC), it is arguably the biggest long term rise in crypto. If we can agree that there is a long term need for privacy, what do you think will happen to the price of Monero as it becomes even more scarce?
So yes, we are hoping for gains. I also hold Monero because it is the closest thing that exists to pure digital cash, and I believe it will have a great purpose because of that.

From the dnms
From men shielding assets from divorce
From people leaving socialist countries

You do have your 100 XMR make it stack, don't you?

Hey I have a question about XMR. Is this the real emission curve or was an error made plugging this into the graphing software? This is important because according to this chart...Monero has inflation...perpetually...as in...until the end of time...they just made an error graphing this, right? After all, who would buy a perpetually inflating crypto lmao. Hopefully someone can clear this up so I can confidently go all-in.
