Just 8 days till my state's election for governor. Why do I care? Well uh they give me 4hrs of paid time off to cast my vote for one. (Voting place is just right up from my house to). Another reason is pay hikes. Current gov is pushing for more of them. The other dude hasn't said shat about anything. (During the swearing in ceremony if the other dude wins I'll get an extra whole day off in December)

Another day. Of doing really nothing. Rain today so meh I'll just stay inside after we get back from the KR run. Little game; "how much will we spend this time" $200, 300, or somewhere in between?. Always a crap shoot. Even with a list. Hey gotta do something to liven things up during the morning you know. (Sigh round 2008ish I could go to WMT or KR and get out with $100 or less and last 2 weeks on it)

Another day. I did work today. I added several new books to my calibre and kvaita servers. Also bagged more VZ shares at 9:30.

Another day of getting paid to do "nothing" for 8hrs a day, 40hrs a week. And if the legislature do their thing by July 2024 and again in July 2025 I'll be getting paid even more to keep on doing "nothing" till retirement day. 200 KO shares,105 VZ shares, 100 WBD shares, 11 DIS shares and a shat pot of other things, all rolling and compounding and divvy hikes galore till I'm dead.

Kek no big surprise; those weight loss drugs are now showing serious side effects. Long live KO,KDP,KHC,etc. May the divvy hikes never stop till after I die!. (uh 55ish years of hikes!)

Another day. Figuring up how much my pension will be jacked once the new pay hikes are effective by 2025. Nice 9.98% Debating on if I'll also jack my 401k contributions 10% to match. I mean hell I don't need to. As it is the 401k money will outlast me (I gotta live to 115 before it runs out). But then again that 10% extra a month won't kill me either.

Another day. Another state worker pay hike is being endorsed by the governor of my state. If the legislature passes it during the next session that starts in January I'll get a 6% hike in July 2024 and a 4% hike in July 2025. Which is on top of the pending income tax cut that happens in January to. Note; They've got the money to do it. Enough is allocated from the last budget to cover the 6% and they're sitting on 1 billion plus surplus funds so covering the 4% is puny stuff.

Another day. Read on a book that came out today at work. Wife bought some new clothes. But hey I'm not complaining. She uh put on a fashion show and well they didn't stay on long. (Still more in a bag so who knows maybe I'll get another show tomorrow). Sigh, back in the day you used to be able to kinda have some "fun" in the dressing rooms of stores. Least it made the whole thing kinda worth it.

Another day. Didn't do nothing. Starting to get colder now so my outdoor walking during breaks/lunch is over with for the year.

Another relaxing weekend. Didn't do nothing. During the KR stock up run we only spent 9 over budget so hey life's good. Also got the MCD's big breakfast w/hot cakes meal and two coffees for under 16. Sad as that is, anytime you can feed two people for under 20 anymore is a win.
