I don't really know anything about cryptocurrencies. The extent of my knowledge as of two weeks ago is that I'm interested in the concept, but in the space of several years of being aware of their existence I never learnt anything about how they work. Two weeks ago, a poster on /pol/ was offering 100 'Britcoin' to anyone who posted their address, so I quickly followed his instructions, downloaded the client, posted my wallet address, and waited. The client spent the next two days syncing transaction history and, sure enough, my 100 Britcoin were there. I hurriedly went online to check their value: £0.0359. OK, I got about £3.59 for free, nothing to shout about, but nothing to complain about either. I inadvertently left the client running in the background and just checked it now, oh, I've mined 0.21457667 Britcoin. Again, far from anything to shout about, but better than a kick in the balls. I also went to check the value of Britcoin today: £0.0677. Almost a 90% increase. Hmm, OK, this is the first point at which I've started to take some interest in the potential of this. If it can increase in value by 90% in the space of 14 days, what else can happen? And that's what I'm here to ask. Where do I go with this information? I feel like I've just dipped my toe in the rabbit hole and I'm about to dive head first.
