I figured this had to be true. Not only is coin collecting anecdotally rapidly becoming a stereotypical old man’s hobby, but the only place I see PMs being advertised is in boomer magazines and ad spots on TV shows for boomers. Also, young people tend to have an aversion to using physical cash because of the perceived lower risk of theft. Just check out how people pay at the supermarket next time you’re there: it’s all zoomzooms with their iPay or whatever, GenXers pay in card, and only old smelly boomers pay cash and especially coin.

We are a minority within a minority especially in our age group.
