Can someone explain a brainlet why a coin like XMR, that has seen lots of continous improvements i.e. bulletproofs, anti ASIC algorithm etc. and actually used as a currency keeps losing value compared to a static BTC?

I understand that they’re linked together, but in such case shouldnt their respective price ratio remain the same at least? Why does XMR fall more than BTC?
