My NW is $500kish and I stopped working 2 years ago. No stocks, just real estate (w/mortgages) and 20% crypto. I live super cheap off of savings and am going to sell a house this year to buy a cuckshed on an acre for cash. I smoke all the weed I want, play all the vidya I want, run, hike and garden. I have a minor social life where I play D&D with some buddies every week or two, a FWB who is like 3 points below me, and a bowling league. I don't buy expensive shit and right now don't even own a car. I take the bus. Sorry for the blog post, just wanted to give you an idea of what a $500k retirement looks like in burgerland.

Stop believing all these LARPing faggots that bought the bottom and sold the top. Trading is a losers game. You don't even have to buy the bottom or buy low. Just fucking buy some, DCA, whatever, and HODL that shit forever. Forget about it, leave it for years. It will crush anything the stock market has ever done. Be PATIENT.
t. bought first BTC at $830

I'm not arguing, I was totally exploited. With the overtime pay I was never compensated for, I figured out I earned about $18 per hour my first year. My billing rate was $340 an hour, although the company expected to collect somewhere around $200 after (((discounts))).
But this is capitalism, labor gets exploited. The choice to make is what exploitation to subject yourself to.
There is a reason people with 5 years of Big 4 experience make what people with 10 years of industry experience make: you worked with one company seeing one way to do things. I worked at dozens of companies and have seen dozens of ways to do things. Different industries, accounting systems, control difficulties and solutions. Plus you work 25-50% more hours in public as well, meaning that 5 years is more like 7.5, doing much harder, more challenging work.
I can't believe I'm sticking up for Big 4 when I totally hated that shit and left pretty much as soon as I could. But comparing it to going straight to industry out of college... I mean, the retards did that. The kids in school who had like 2.7 GPAs and did't even consider getting their CPA license because "the exam is too hard". I mean, I guess that works out when their future is updating the same spreadsheet the same way for the next 40 years.
I don't know, OP is fucked but he'll probably make a lot of money.

Not this time friendo. This time it will be a glorious socialist bailout for the people, along with the associated inflation. We're all gonna make it!

Yes, $264 more that you otherwise would have, which will be dependent on a bunch of other stuff, mostly how much you paid during the year.

I do this. It takes a long time to make any money, but if you are patient it has a very high likelihood of success. I see people boast about their rental deals where they bought a house for 200k and make $700 a month cash flow with zero down and shit like that which seems really unrealistic to me.
All of my houses were at best cash flow even when I bought them, and that's assuming no vacancy or repairs. Over time, the rent goes up and the mortgage stays the same. After about 5 years the house should be solidly cash flow positive, couple hundred a month. After 10, you have this income producing asset that's worth a lot more than you paid, that some renter has been paying down all this time. While you still might only be pulling a few hundred bucks a month out of it, your net worth has gone up tremendously.

I sorta realized that investing heavily in these memecoins is only worth it if you work a mccucks job that only allows you to save $100 a month or a similarly pitiful amount. When you are making such little money the only way you are ever going to make it is with a 100x or greater rate of return.

Similarly, a poor person in Africa with $1 left per month is better off buying a lotto ticket than investing in crypto because even a 100x wouldn't save them in this case. They would need more like 1000000x to make it.

If you make a good income that allows you to invest thousands a month, you are better putting that all in to boomer stocks with a 7% return because it's almost guaranteed to make you a multi millionaire in a few decades. If you make 200k a year and dump all your spare change into crypto you're a fucking brainlet.

I've seen these "online polls" that show how widespread crypto is, but I see two problems with them:

1.) It's way off of what I experience in real life. Sure, everyone has heard of crypto, but no one can explain what it is or how it works. And they sure as shit haven't bought any. I am a business owner in my 30's, lots of similarly positioned friends, and out of around 20 people I've had the convo with, only 1 bought any at all.

2.) The price is too low to reflect any substantial adoption. As soon as any major pension fund puts .1% of their assets into BTC, the price will moon. There are already studies indicating that crypto is a non-correlated asset, meaning that even conservative portfolios should hold a tiny bit to reduce portfolio volatility.

I think we are primed for the next bull, 2020 halvening at the latest.

Not for long boys. I just made a new coin with 38 trillion circulation instead of XRP's virgin-tier 38 billion. Once I sell one to my roommmate for $1, it'll be #1. Jelly?

I graduated high school in 1999 and can tell you the internet was a big fucking deal. They couldn't get that shit hooked up fast enough during the 4 years I was there. I even had a multimedia class my senior year where we learned some basic HTML and made web pages. Also, this was a poor, shithole, minority-majority school
