The power just got turned off by PG&E at my GF's rich mom's house in the California bay area. This is a rich community and her and her neighbors houses are all in the 1.5-3 mil range. It's actually fucking over. People have turkeys to cook. what the actual fuck is happening?

No seriously. I call it the Attention Threshold. Think of your average joe NPC. When it comes to dealing with problems and options in life, they will always choose the path most trod on, and that is all the research they will do. Combine that laziness with stupidity and you get the average consumer. They don't wander too far from the most popular options. The Chrome browser is another example of the attention threshold. It lacks the features of other browsers, yet it stays #1 because it is the most well-known, and that is good enough for most consumers. They don't bother with Brave or Opera, who both have built-in ad blockers and a free crypto offer and free VPN respectively, or even Chromium which is just Chrome without the botnet. Same goes for Bitcoin. There are so many better coins out there, but since the average consumer is dumb and uninterested, they remain unpopular while bitcoin--despite being a shitcoin--stays high.
