You're on it. This is what we do every recession. Look at 2008-2010 deflation rates.
I don't believe in MMT theory, but I know a lot of people do. I am not really well-informed enough on macro economics to explain *everything* that happened, I think a lot of people who are bear macro are just selling fear, imho.
