Men seek out high income jobs rather than jobs that provide a function for society, become more aggressive in pay negotiations, work for longer hours
Conversely women are expected to be more empathetic and nurturing which is directly at odds with a ruthless revenue generating approach.
Bridging the pay gap is tantamount to masculinizing women and making them conform to the patriarchy.

Not only this, but the demand that male status is aligned with money is a direct causation of domestic violence, of which the chief victims are women. "kicking the cat" as men bring the pressure of their work home with them.
The solution then, is not to increase wages of women but to DECREASE MALE WAGES!
