I currently work IT, and id say it depends.

If you get a cushy Network Administrator job where you don't have to interact with customers then you won the jack pot, but good luck. Even those positions are starting to get micro-managed by HR teams so your worst enemy will be some 59 yr old boomer lady who makes more money than you and makes your life a nightmare.


That's one of my biggest issues with IT. So much uneccessary middle man shit forced upon us by HR groups and "managers" with worthless degrees and made up job positions. I'm learning how to use Blender and 3D modeling so I can make money off designing and rigging custom furry avatars for VR games so I can quit IT altogether.
