I'm almost 40, I've been working since I'm 13 literally. I have worked now at 2 big companies and 2 startups, the startup environments were way harder & I learned a lot more. One of them grew and did pretty well and I led a team of 150 people and built lots of our core processes. The other one I honed my project management skills and led a number of highly dysfunctional teams to victory under a maniacally narcissistic retard CEO.

ALL of my friends I talk to about their jobs who have not had startup related jobs have way way way less general business sense and often have maybe at best marginally better knowledge of their one-track career areas of "expertise" than I do.

But when I read job ads I feel like a retard who has never accomplished anything of merit. The skills and experience these job ads ask for are out of this world... do real people even have any of these skills? Or is it all just a massive game of bullshit?

The local banks in my area have started telling people on TV they are preparing for bank runs unironically. Mainly since a couple of smaller companies who did have loans from one of the three banks that collapsed for a company started pulling everything out of every bank they were in contact with, even the local ones, all because of fears they loose what they have in reserve.
