>Well to be fair it's possible for the US Treasury to blacklist the entirety of Monero. So I don't know if this is a good argument.

Blacklisting Monero addresses is pointless since outgoing TX can't be traced. Blacklisting Bitcoin addresses works since it is fundamentally a public ledger so outgoing transactions are visible to everybody.

>It's technically possible for future applications to calculate if your BTC has ever been used for nefarior purposes so people can actually avoid them.

......or you can avoid these hassles altogether and just use Monero with peace of mind.

>I understand the premise and result, but dont understand the technology behind it, my main question is what the status of its development/implementation is.

There are several teams individually working on various aspects of XMR<->BTC atomic swaps.

>Privacy in blockchain and crypto is a major concern for users, study reveals

"73% of respondents have either hesitated or completely avoided making a transaction in the past because they were worried about the privacy implications around those transactions (e.g., their wallet address would be revealed and linked to their identities)."

"Respondents disagree that wallet addresses provide enough privacy. One user provided a personal example: “My friend made a lot of money in DeFi. He asked me to guess how much he made. I told him the exact number; he was shocked. It was because he transferred ETH to me before.”"

>you can block the ramps from monero to cash but you cant block the ramps of monero to bitcoin and then to cash can you?

Not just BTC. The Farcaster team intends to ultimately expand atomic swaps to other chains, LTC is likely next and then ETH.

>it will never pump

It likely will at some later point when it becomes apparent XMR is going to be the Next Big Thing, cue the normie FOMO and off we go.

Tho if Monero has been banned by then the mainstream market stats might seem a little weird at first glance since it will appear that BTC demand is skyrocketing, but that will just be due to atomic swaps being the only way into XMR.

Relax. Daily TX keep rising, adoption is steadily growing, atomic swaps are on the way, its never been this comfy.

Think long-term and ye shall prosper.

>Are you MonerChads expecting this to partake in the bullrun despite the exchange FUD? Or is it more of a long term hold?

XMR is a long-term hold. If you truly want to make it learn the virtue of patience, dump everything into a paper wallet and check the price once a year.
