I think it has a possibility of being more successful artistically and commercially.

Nearest thing that comes to mind is The Invisibles, but it was way too episodic, and there was almost no long-term interconnection between elements. Also it wasn't really abstract enough, in terms of subject matter or art. But it was still an attempt to make a thing, and that's what counts.
