>in the same way it works in the US
The reason it's expensive in the US is because the government basically controls it.
It used to be cheap before this.

In Canada they just tell you to kill yourself or put you on an endless list where you never get the service you need. That and your effective tax rate doubles and everything is twice as expensive.

America does have a quasi socialized healthcare (medicare / medicaid) and an industry that is massively over regulated which is the reason why healthcare costs are so expensive. Deregulate healthcare and prices will drop like a stone.

Also, when government controls something they control who gets it. I fled Canada when they larped as Nazi germany during covid and moved to the states. The government wants trying to revoke EI for the unvaccinated for goodness sake.

>A perfect example is the Obamacare legislation which is designed to run out of money. The point is to make the health care system so awful that the only "solution" is to move to single payer.
It's all so tiresome.
We have to go back to free market healthcare desu

The reason healthcare is so expensive in USA is government interventionism.
Healthcare used to be extremely cheap before the government took over the system and created an environment with grants health insurance companies insane monopolistic powers.

Healthcare used to be cheap as fuck in the 50s/60s/70s.

The solution to this problem is a FREE MARKET, not more government control.

Free market healthcare is superior to America's current shithole healthcare system AND socialized medicine.

Reminder that the government is responsible for high healthcare costs, not the free market.
Free market healthcare was tried and made healthcare cheap before the government stepped in and ruined it.

>So why do you call Bernie a socialist
I don't. He's just further left than anyone in the USA

Honestly I just want to go back to the free market healthcare system we had in the 50s and 60s when it was incredibly cheap and everyone was covered.

>You want all roads to be privately owned?
Yes.
> Imagine driving to work and having to pay 6 different tolls because you have to use roads owned by 6 different private corporations.
It would be cheaper than taxes and there would be much less congestion.

>You won't be able to leave your house since you'd have to pay to use the street outside.
Those roads would be community owned.

>the US model seems pretty fucked to me.
Because the government has completely destroyed it and jacked up the prices. It used to be incredibly cheap in the 50s and 60s before all this government.
Please read this image.

>Many other countries such as New Zealand seem to have a much better publicly run system where people don't have to choose between selling their house to pay for treatment or dying.
Switzerland had a mostly privatized system and doesn't have waiting lines and inefficiencies that exist in state run systems.

HAHAHAHAHA Oh wow.
Every single one of your 100% central planning countries were absolute shitholes and the workers did not benefit.
Even the USSR had to constantly be bailed out by the capitalist west.
What the fuck is a commie doing on /biz/ anyway?

>>hey, you can pay 2 dollars for this herbal tea i made, it will cure your cancer, believe me
America had free market healthcare in the 50s and 60s, it was extremely cheap and was the most scientifically advanced in the world.
Literally cope more, faggot.

>And yeah I'd rather pay through taxes for health insurance have a guarantee of healthcare
You ALREADY do this?
Why don't we just get government out of the picture so healthcare prices become cheap again like they used to be before the government got heavily involved?
