the guy who works 3 manual labor jobs and can't break 50k is almost certainly expendable and easily replaced. if he wasn't, he would likely be getting paid more. As for pajeets, all work that can be outsourced to pajeets is outsourced to them, but anyone who works in the industry will let you know they do shitty work and are often very reliable. Domestic pajeets (and randos who go through coding bootcamps) go through their entire careers often staying in lower positions in the valley. this is because they often lack the fundamental academic background in computer science and while they're okay "problem solvers" with hasty patchwork solutions, they're often ill suited for project design and general leadership

it is not rare for people coming from decent CS universities to make >$200k their first year in total compensation. this is more than enough to live quite comfortable in the bay area. It's only abysmal if you're not on the higher spectrum of incomes. A lot of people grind their hardest to make ends meet, but if you're in the techno-caste, then it really is the land of opportunity
