Most investors who are not day traders are better off riding the big waves. For the last few years that's been market index funds, and they've done fine with that in the last decade.

Take a look at pic related and tell me we're on track to 2000 as opposed to 1980.

Assets are dropping relative to money, history suggests where and when they will hit bottom, at which point pursuing returns via those assets will again make sense.
