There is a persistent belief that recessions are purely bad and don't perform useful work, and that by printing and avoiding a (nominal) recession you have skirted the bad, but this is a false belief, recessions are the natural product of malallocation of resources, by printing to avoid/minimize recessions we have only increased the malallocation and increased the drag on the system making real growth that much more difficult.
