So I just inherited $6000.

What should I do with it?

So I've got a friend that's a pretty good artist.

I think his art is good enough to be sold professionally, and I'd like to manage the business end of it.

How do I go about doing this? I'll talk to him about it and I'm 99% sure he'd be up for it.

Should I just take one of his paintings to an art store and ask them if they'd like to purchase x number of prints of it for resale?

Of course I'll split the profits with him, before any one asks.

What's a good idea for a start-up from home, for less than $1000?

Ebay is out, since it doesn't exist in my country, and if I would use it I couldn't compete (Tariffs of around 30%).

Also note that I have a full-time job, but I won't mind working over the weekends on this.

OP here again.

I'm working on a new, improved version.

I need some books recommendations to put on there. Books that are commonly viewed by /biz/ as required reading. So far I've got:
* Security Analysis
* The Intelligent Investor
* The Richest Man in Babylon
* Bogleheads' Guide To Investing (will also link to website in the links section)

Alternatively I could just throw the entire recommended book image on there.

I like Christopher Ward and Orient. If you're spending more then $500 on a watch and you are middle class you're an idiot. Period.

>mfw I would rather take the $5k I would spend on a shitty rolex and max my Roth IRA
