Most people are brain dead npcs that took an untested jab multiple times. There are people in the know when it comes to platinum and there are people stacking and trading it daily. People act surprised when a metal more rare than gold or silver isn't at their LCS or they don't see many ads online.

Depending on where you live it could be cheaper and atleast more fun to go on road trip to Mexico. All you have to do is not get robbed or killed by the cartel, get to the bank, tap some old lady in line on the shoulder, ask her in your best Spanish if she can take your money and buy some silver with it. Then you need to get back in your car and drive home hoping the cartel or the border agents don't confiscate your recently acquired purchase. Seems to easy to me and would save you lots of monies.
