I think it's unlikely.
Apparently the dip was part of a broad market pullback in which the DAX 30 (German equivalent of the DOW) fell over 25% between 10/14 and 10/24, and several of the largest German companies such as SAP also fell over 50% like Volkswagen.
So it wasn't all part of the "organic" stock price, but it fell considerably farther than DAX. There are other examples of short squeezes in which there are no dips iirc.
If the institutions really are holding 100%+ of float they probably know better being in this play and will hold or even buy more during a dip.
If does dip it's not like I'm selling anyways.
