Mellon and Baba could be larps, they could be real, all I'm saying is that there's no need to focus on supposed 'insiders' when the actual bank documents that show Ripple as the bridge between CBDCs and adoption by major banks exist

and soon comes Flare. (pic related)

>decentralized derivatives

imagine Uniswap but you can trade anything- any crypto, any currency, any stock, any derivative

that's what flare is going to be! now, does that sound like something worth investing in?

i don't understand it that well either, but i can make an educated guess.

as i understand it, only XRP wallets that have registered their address on the XRP ledger with Ethereum addresses will be receiving spark (this is all the talk about XUMM, Exodus, the Wietse flare website, etc)

Not all wallets will be registered, so the airdrop is anticipated to be something like 5 spark for every XRP you hold

in order to lend XRP by collateralizing it and making FXRP, you need 10 spark for every 1 XRP you hold.

flare has the potential to become very important in the crypto and even the global financial system, so it's logical to assume that the value will increase after an initial dump when everyone sells their free money after the airdrop (for an example of this, look at the UNI airdrop earlier this year)

in my opinion, the smart move will be to buy up cheap Spark tokens when they are released, not only as an investment because their value will probably increase, but for the utility they provide- they will allow you to lend XRP (and, possibly, BTC, USD(C), and XLM, according to the blogposts on the Flare blog) as well as stake your XRP to provide oracle data and receive compensation from that as well, as well as vote in matters relating to the use of Flare (including, but not limited to, using flare to communicate with other blockchains- the ones mentioned in the publications are, again, BTC, XLM and USD(C))

so basically, i'm going to set aside some cash to buy flare when it comes out, because i want to be able to act as an agent and lend my XRP and possibly my XLM, BTC and USDC as well.

it's worth noting that i am pretty beginner-level with all this and my understanding isn't at a very technical level, if any anon understands this better and/or i've made a mistake in this post please jump in and correct me.

i think flare will be very, very big. (pic related, from a flare blog post)

"alice uses the decentralized derivatives application"

do you understand the implications of this sentence anons

do you understand that mankind has been laboring under the yoke of absolutely insufferable, Brooks Brothers-and-Savile Row-clad assholes who have been claiming their pound of flesh literally since finance was invented as a corollary of the type of temple-based organized religion where people paid part of their grain harvest to the temple elites and this has the potential to remove those bloodsucking middlemen

Man, I really think Flare could be a fairly significant turning point in human history, if it plays out like it potentially could.

Now, I know that Nothing Ever Happens...but if this continues to unfold like it currently is, this could be huge!

I'm just curious who this Hugo Philion character is, and why they are being allowed to debut this technology. Don't the IMF, BIS and all the central banks realize that this could take a huge chunk out of their profits?

Or is it hubris? They think that it's just some geeky app that won't amount to anything.

"Alice opens the decentralized derivatives application." Christ.
