i would imagine that they will not be underwritten so easily for mortgages. I don't really know what housing will do, but it's not a very liquid market, especially right now. I don't think cash on hand will offset tightening credit at all.

If you like playing with cars, sure. otherwise, i would only get a car if you need to use it. Great time to start looking to buy a car. I wouldn't say that for a house. The government entities going bankrupt + increasing taxes on a municipality to municipality basis is probably going to be a big commotion.
