The massive and exceeding wealthy empire of China can surely supply materials, workers, and technology to construct microchips faster when they own Taiwan than the current insurgent occupied rebel state we are currently buying from. >No I'm afraid ONLY Taiwan fan build them because reasons!
So do we have any viable retaliation against them?
>Costly and foolish trade war starving millions of innocent Chinese citizens and bankrupting hundreds of thousands of hardworking Americans immedietly and then destroying our entire quality of life spending the next decade trying to achieve a fraction of the products China supplies across literally every industry
What would we stand to gain from aggressive retaliatory trade wars to punish China for securing their national borders stolen not even 100 years demanding to enable the treasonous rebel party who undermines their very existence and incurs an absolutely constant security crisis?
>Absolutely nothing. Everybody would suffer and this destroys currently long running and prosperous trade relations we have carefully forged over decades for the mutual benefit of many billions globally

Cool cool. Cool. So we envoke some epic reactionary, punitive, and self destructive trade policies while China takes over 100% of semiconductor production and leverages an even greater trade disparity over us than ever before. Do we have any other options? Any at all?
>Yes, we could chose to ignore the virtue signaling libtards who don't understand human conquest. Ignore their irrelevant notions of sovereignty regarding the oldest successful civilization on earth which we couldn't possibly begin to understand the cultural implications thereof or pretend to have any moral jurisdiction over.
So..we simply do nothing mind our own business let an equally influential and powerful nation across the planet handle their own business without sabatoguing them and we buy more cheaper more semiconductors from a greater more capable nation?
>Yes!
